The President of Niger Republic, Mahamadou issoufou, has commended the Maryam Abacha American University (MAAUN), saying the establishment of the University has brought socio-economic and other developments to the country.
President Issoufou made the remark when the Founder and President of MAAUN, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo and his entourage paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House in Niamey on Saturday.
He noted that the establishment of the University in Maradi has also promoted educational development as well as boosted economic growth and development of the state and the entire country.
In his remarks, the Founder and President of MAAUN, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo expressed his appreciation over the support and cooperation the government of Niger Republic has been giving to the University.
He restated the commitment of the University in the promotion of peaceful coexistence among the staff, students and the university host community.
