COVID-19: BUA Foundation Donates Ambulances To Bauchi State

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has commended the BUA Group and Foundation for their humanitarian support with the donation of three brand new and well-equipped ambulances and 50, 000 facemasks to help in the fight against COVID-19 in the state.

He made the commendation while receiving the donations on behalf of the Government and people of the state in Bauchi Monday, Governor Bala Mohammed saying, “I wish to convey our deepest appreciation to the chairman of the BUA Group and Foundationir for the very good efforts and humanitarian support to Bauchi state”.

The Governor described the Chairman of the Group and Foundation, Alhaji Abdul’Samad Ishiyaka Rabi’u as a refutable philanthropists and businessman in Nigeria whose humanitarian gesture is worthy of emulation by any well-meaning Nigerian.

Senator Bala Mohammed noted that what Andul’samad Ishiyaka Rabi’u is doing in the fight against COVID-19 has to a significant extent increased his esteem as a person and as a businessman in Nigeria.

Flanked by the chairman of Bauchi state COVID-19 Response Committee and the deputy governor, Senator Baba Tela, the governor also thanked the BUA foundation chairman and its friends in the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID-19) group for their donations of relief materials to Nigerians.

Bala said, “It is better late than never, because we still need these facilities, 3 ambulances and 500, 000 facemasks are to show to the people of Bauchi state that the pandemic is not yet over, it is not yet Uhuru for the COVID -19”.  

He also described BUA Group as a household name in term of the items it produces in this country, such as cement and agricultural products, saying Bauchi is a very veritable place for all these produce, and the state is readily available for any partnership the group needs from it.

The Governor, who immediately handed over the donations to the State COVID-19 Response Committee headed by his Deputy, Senator Baba Salihu Tela, assured that the items would be put to use for what they were intended to.

Earlier while presenting the ambulances and facemasks to the governor, the former minister of health, Dr. Adi Ali Hong said, “I’m representing the chairman of BUA Group, also the chairman of BUA Foundation, Alhaji Abdulsamad Ishiyaka Rabi’u to this memorable occasion”.

He commended the efforts of Bauchi state government in the fight against COVID-19, saying the World is witnessing a new trend again, with the second wave of the pandemic already in Europe and America, and even in Nigeria the numbers have been on the increase.

Dr. Idi Hong explained that the BUA Group want to support the efforts of Bauchi state government which, he observed, has done very remarkably well in containing COVID-19 in the state, saying the laudable and developmental projects the government has been executing in the state is also very commendable.

Hong disclosed that Bua Group and the Foundation have donated in access of N8 billion naira in the fight against COVID-19 in the country, in support of state governments and other institutions both at federal and state levels, and in forms of materials, foods and infrastructure.

Alhaji Abdul’samad Ishiyaka Rabi’u assured of his continue to support governments and institutions so that we will be able to stamp out COVID-19 in Nigeria, stressing that without a healthy population, there will be no healthy government and healthy economy.
