Senator Lawal Yahaya Gumau representing Bauchi South senatorial district on wednesday distributed Twenty-Seven (27) different brands of new vehicles freely to both Muslim and Christians organizations in the senatorial district comprising of seven Local Government Areas in the state
The vehicles presentation was held at Magama Gumau in Toro Local Government Area of the state which attracted thousands of adherents of the two major religions, including politicians who showered encomiums to the senator.
Speaking at the occasion the representative of the Senator, Alhaji Aminu Abubakar Dawaki described his mentor as the most humane, generous and high-minded politician who stood tall in showering democracy dividends to the people.
Alhaji Aminu Dawaki explained that Bauchi state today lacks such politician the like of Senator Lawal Gumau who passes the severities of partisanship from the state legislator to the House of Representatives and onto the nation’s upper legislative chamber, the Senate.
Dawaki, who noted that the sky is the limit for Senator Lawal Gumau, said the erudite politician has significantly touched the lives of generality of electorates in the provision of democracy dividends such as boreholes, classrooms, electricity, women and youth empowerment, facilitating employment into federal establishments such as the Army, Police, Customs, Road Safety Corps, and admissions into tertiary institutions, among others.
He therefore called on the constituents of senator Lawal Gumau in the seven Local Government Areas of Bauchi, Toro, Alkaleri, Kirfi, Tafawa Balewa, Dass and Bogoro to give him all the necessary support and cooperation in salvaging the people from the shackles of abject poverty, ignorance, disease and hunger.
Dawaki also disclosed that the next and third batch of empowerment by the senator slated for early next year would witness the presentation of 120 vehicles and 1, 000 motorcycles to beneficiaries, saying Gumau has for sometimes been empowering people aimed at raising their standards of living.
Beneficiaries of the vehicles presentation who hailed the senator for his generosity included the Reverend Jaja S. Dangi a former member of Bauchi State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, representing Toro CAN beneficiaries, commended the senator for the gesture which, he noted, would go a long way in promoting the activities of their association.
Reverend Jaja Dangi assured that the association in the area would continue to give the senator useful advises while praying for him to succeed in his political career, saying politics is all about peace, harmony and unity of purpose.
Also speaking, another beneficiary and JIBWIS leader in Toro LGA, Muhammad Abdullahi Jajuwal expressed gratitude to the senator, stressing that has been giving helping hands to religious activities in the area, and wished him well in all his endeavours.
Ustaz Ya’u Mohammed of JNI Alkaleri, and Ustaz Abdulkarim Abdullahi representing JIBWIS Alkaleri East/West similarly commended Senator Lawal Yahaya Gumau for empowering their organizations towards propagation their religious activities.
The associations’ captains who said that they don’t even have motorcycles for their organizations expressed delight with the gesture, and prayed for the senator to assume governorship seat in the forthcoming elections, saying they were extremely happy.
Mallam Abdulrahman Abubakar Ghani, a JIBWIS leader in Liman Katagum of Bauchi Local Government Area noted that whichever political party one belongs or support is tied to one of the two major religions of Islam and Christianity, hence the empowerment to religious organizations is justifiable.
Religious groups beneficiaries of the Senator Gumau empowerment included Jama’atul izalatul Bid’a Wa’ikamatus Sunna, Tijjaniyya Movement chapter, and Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI).
