North-East Youth Progressive Alliance has called on the Federal Government to as a matter of necessity apologize to families of the dead Zabarmari rice farmers recently killed by Boko Haram militants for spitting on their grave

Addressing Journalists at the NUJ Press Center, Bauchi, North-East Youth Progressive Alliance described the statement as most unfortunate and denigrating to the dead.
A spokesperson of the group, Barrister Hussaini Saraki said that, “Whoever made that statement is out of his mind, it is uncalled for and must be withdrawn and apologize to Nigerians immediately”.
Saraki said, “The entire North is bleeding, and no one seems to care, the leaders among us have chosen to remain silent, watching innocent people being slaughtered while thousands are Displaced and made refugees in their own country, this was not part of the bargain made, neither was it the supposed dividends of democracy promised to our people”.
Barrister Saraki further declared, “The government should and must find a means to bring an end to all insecurity challenges bedeviling the North.”
According to him, the group is calling for the recruitment of Borno youths in to the Nigerian Army, Police and NSCDC and should be deployed to Borno state to help in curbing the security challenges currently facing the state.
He also spoke of the need for re-strategizing especially as regards to intelligence gathering and effective collaboration with various communities of Borno because ‘it is quite obvious that the current strategy is no longer working as could be seen by the recent attack perpetrated by the insurgents’.
The group equally called on the federal government to ensure that the families of the deceased victims were compensated adequately to relief them of their pains.
