Bauchi State Gov Supports Cut-off Private Part Girl With N1 Million For Treatment

A six-year old girl in Bauchi state whose private part was cut-off by yet to be identified perpetrators of the act has got the nod of Bauchi state government with the support of one million naira for commencement of her treatment at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) in Kano.

The cash donation was made available to the victim at AKTH by the Bauchi Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Abdulrazaq Nuhu Zaki who led a government delegation to the hospital on behalf of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
Governor Bala Mohammed, while condemning the act by the perpetrators, also described the incident as unfortunate and unacceptable to the state government, saying the perpetrators must be fished out and punished accordingly.  

Presenting the money on behalf of the Governor, the commissioner sympathized with the victim and her family over the incident with the assurance that the government will do everything possible to ensure justice is done to the victim.

“His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi state, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed is deeply touched with this negative act and we are here on his behalf to sympathize with the parents and to assure them that the government will take care of the girl's treatment”. 

Zaki, who also donated some food items and cash to the girl’s immediate family, said, “Government will take full care of the full treatment until her recovery because our Governor Bala Mohammed was so much concerned about the welfare and wellbeing of less privileged people”.
He explained that the state government will take punitive measures against the perpetrators of the act to serve as deterrent to others, and called on such perpetrators to desist from negative acts for the betterment of the society.

Bauchi Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajara Jibrin Gidado in the same vein delivered the message of the state's first lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed during the visit, revealing that the first lady has already constituted a high powered judicial panel to serve as a legal body for the victim. 

On his part, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Aliyu Mohammed Maigoro who was also in the delegation to Jama’are noted that the victim required plastic surgery for her quick recovery and survival.

The family of the victim expressed gratitude to the administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for quick intervention on the matter.

Dr. Mahmud Kawu Magashi who briefed the delegation on the current condition of the victim, said a team of doctors are working round the clock to ensure the required treatment of the victim.
