Police Arrived Three Hours After Bandits Kidnapped My Seven Shildren –Zamfara APC Chair

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Alhaji Sani Gyare, said the police arrived three hours after they were alerted to the attack on his community on Friday.

Gyare, whose seven children were kidnapped in the attack in the early hours of Friday, expressed displeasure with the security forces, calling on leaders at all levels to fear God in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Speaking to Saturday PUNCH, Gyare said his children were kidnapped by the bandits without much pressure from the security agents.

“When the bandits entered the village, the police were informed by the villagers, but they (police) didn’t report to the scene until after three hours when the bandits had left the area,” he said.

He called on both the state and the federal governments to come to his aid and rescue his children.

He also appealed to the public to pray for the safe return of his kidnapped children.

According to him, the names of the kidnapped children are: Bashar, Abubakar, Haruna, Habibah, Sufyanu, Mubarak and Armiyau.

Gyare said the bandits had yet to call him to make their demands known.

Narrating his ordeal, Gyare said he was away to Gusau, the state capital, when the bandits invaded the community.

The spokesperson for the Zamfara Police Command, Mohammed Shehu, could not be reached on phone as of press time.
