Seven People killed Others Injured As Boko Haram Militants Attack Military Base


No fewer than 7 persons, including 6 soldiers were on Sunday killed, when suspected Boko Haram terrorist attacked a Military base in the southern part of Borno State.
 
According to Daily Trust, the terrorist stormed a Militarily settlement in Kuda, near Chibok town at about 4:30 pm, and engaged troops in a fierce gun battle, killing 6 Soldiers and a master warrant officer.

The Military source also said that 8 more persons sustained various degrees of injury during the attack that lasted more than 25 minutes.

It was learnt that a member of the vigilante group, in Kuda, where the attack happened, Yohanna Bitrus, said that the attackers, numbering up to 15, burnt down about 40 houses and carted away 3 vehicles after they had looted the whole community.

He said, “They came in large number to attack our Soldier’s station in Kuda, they overpowered the Soldiers and killed 6 soldiers and wounded 8 others.”

“A woman was burnt in her house too. They equally burnt down more than 40 houses after they have looted the foodstuff and livestock.”

“The federal government should urgently help us, we need more soldiers and equipment to be able to face these terrorists, “Bitrus said.

Meanwhile, a senior Military personnel, who spoke to journalist on the conditions of anonymous, confirmed the attack, adding that they lost some brave soldiers.

He said, “Yes, there was attacked on troops location yesterday, our gallant troops fought hard but we lost some soldiers and others were wounded.”
