BREAKING: Alleged $25,000 Fraud: Shehu Sani’s Trial Suffers Setback

The alleged $25,000 trail of Senator Shehu Sani’  by the Economic and Financial Crimes  Commission, EFCC on monday suffered a major setback at the Federal High Court Abuja following a technical hitches in the alleged audio conversation between the plaintiff, Alhaji Sani Dauda, the Chairman of ASD and the defendant Senator Shehu Sani’.

At the continuation of the trial the EFCC Ekele Ihenacho after addressing the Court, introduced the prosecution witness and an audio he claimed was recorded during the conversations between ASD and the former Senator who represented Kaduna Central in the Senate in the 8th Assembly.

The trail took a dramatic turn when the prosecution witness Aliyu Bako a staff of the EFCC struggled endless to play the audio in the court, but failed due to alleged technical hitches.

During the cross examination by the defendant lawyer, AA. Ibrahim ( SAN) the prosecution witness admitted that the alleged ,$ 25,000 exhibit the EFCC presented to the Court was brought to the commission by ASD.

Though mentioned in the statement, Bako told the court that all the parties mentioned in the case including ambassador Shinkafi, Ibrahim Magu, the former EFCC ‘s boss and late isa funtua were not invited to write statement by the EFCC during the investigation.

Bako further told the Court that he was not present when ASD gave the alleged bribe to Shehu and that at no point Shehu called Magu or the CJN in presence of ASD.

The trail has been adjourned till Tuesday by the presiding Judge Justice Iyang Ekwo for the continuation of the trail.
