The National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS) has condemned what it described as a ‘mischievous act’ perpetrated against the National President, Abdurrahman Shu’aibu that the union’s judicial committee perfected a plan to impeach him.
According to a letter going round campuses of tertiary institutions in Bauchi state, the said judicial committee hinged the reason for impeaching the National President to an allegation of mismanagement of funds levelled against him.
NUBASS Press Secretary, Usman Abdullahi Koli described in Bauchi Tuesday that the purported impeachment is untrue and false, and the union distanced itself from it on all accounts.
The national body of the association therefore assures the general public that nothing of such nature happened officially by its senate committee.
Koli said, “It is a well known fact that the so called senate president, Aliyu Isma’il has exceeded his 365 days in office and he is no longer a student. Likewise, the so called Judicial committee that are parading themselves are not legitimate because they are not the one's appointed by the former NUBASS National president as instituted in the constitution”.
Koli recalled that the same accusation made by some fishy elements aimed at damaging the reputation of the president and his Financial Secretary, the national executive of the union passes vote of confidence to the both accused persons who are not guilty.
Usman Abdullahi Koli then condemned the purported letter attached to the impeachment of the union’s president, reiterating the cordial relationship between the NUBASS National and State chapter executives, as well as members across all institutions in Bauchi and other states in the federation.
Koli also urged every bonafide Bauchi indigene, NUBASS and the general public to disregard the false statements against the union’s president.
He said that the union has given perpetrators of the dastardly act a 24 hours to without hesitation follow the same way to falsify their statements and make a public apology to the students of Bauchi State for causing an impasse.
