Zamfra State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Bello Mohammed Matawalle has declared that the day Northerners will rise up against the Southerners in Nigeria over their recent actions against them that they will regret engaging the North.
Matawalle who made the declaration at the Zamfra State House Gusau during a press conference meeting with some government officials and the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Rearers Organization said the Southern part of Nigeria has been maiming and killing innocent Hausa-Fulani herders over the years and that with time the Northerners will rise up against such by taking their fate in their hands.
According to him, “We’ve watched over the years the unwarranted attacks being launched against the Hausa-Fulani herders today in Nigeria by the Igbos and Yorubas. And I want to make it more clearer now so that they can understand that our keeping quite is not an act of cowardice or stupidity.
“In this country, the law permits every Nigerian to live anywhere, do their legitimate business anywhere irrespective of their cultural values and ethnic differences but unfortunately the reverse is now the case, as Southerners has vehemently risen against the Northerners living in the South.
“The day Northerners will decide that enough is enough, i tell you the Southerners will regret ever engaging the Northerners in a war. They live here, do their businesses without anyone disturbing them but over there if it’s not the proscribed terrorist group IPOB, it is Oduduwa killing and slaughtering our people like fowls.
“I call on President Muhammadu Buhari to look into the matter as the father of the nation and act fast because we’ve had it up to our neck and cannot continue to tolerate such forms of violence against our people anymore.
“With the level of violence being perpetrated by the so called Oduduwa freedom fighters in Nigeria, by the Federal Government should have proscribed them as terrorist organization because they are terrorizing Nigerians and we won’t tolerate that any further” he said.
However, it was gathered that Governor Mohammed made similar statements on the 10th of April, 2020 via THE NATION’S NEWSPAPER threatening Southerners living in the North that it’s high time the Northerners will rise up against them.
