Bauchi APC Political Group Kicks Against Gov Bala’s Romance With APC

By Idris Khalid

A Bauchi political pressure group under the auspices of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has debunked the speculations that Governor Bala Mohammed (PDP) is planning to cross-carpet to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the group, it is not possible under any circumstance for Governor Bala Mohammed to decamp to the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the party doesn’t want people like him in its midst.

Chairman of the group Yahya Idris Suleiman made the declaration in an interview with newsmen Monday where he said that they do not want the governor to join APC 'because he would spoil it'.

“We appeal to the people of Bauchi state to calm down on the current speculations on social media and radio of the governor's defection to APC. We are doing everything possible to avert it. We will only be working with good people in the party.

“We will continue to move with credible people in our party, but not the likes of Governor Bala Mohammed whose credibility is in doubt. We are therefore advising Governor Bala Mohammed to stay put in his party where some of his members see him as person with substance”.

"The governor is trying to defect to this party. But by God's grace, it will not work. Let him remain in the party that gave him the mandate. He should remain there.

"If he thinks he is doing good, why won't he stay there and get re-elected? Our findings proved that he is not doing the needful as he is accumulating debts for Bauchi state".

He commended the Muhammadu Buhari led federal government for the several projects it has so far initiated in the north like the railway project from Katsina to Niger republic, road from Akwanga in Nassarawa state to Jos and Bauchi, Bauchi to Adamawa  and the construction of huge ultra modern bridge in Taraba state among others.

He also hailed the federal government for mitigating insurgency in the north east, banditry in north west.

The APC group then commended the stewardship of Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government for its determined efforts to curb insurgency and banditry ravaging parts of the country.
