Former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin was sentenced to 22.5 years in prison Friday for murdering George Floyd. In asking for a maximum sentence, Floyd’s brother told the judge, "My family and I have been given a life sentence."
In a brief statement, Chauvin offered his "condolences to the Floyd family."
