A committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe state, Malam Khalid Ahmad Nafada has expressed confidence in the ability and leadership of Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, especially his two-year revolutionary stewardship of the state.
Khalid noted that the mid-term first tenure of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya witnessed infrastructural development especially in the areas of roads construction, schools building, as well as establishment of primary healthcare centres at the grassroots.
One of the major achievement of the Yahaya-led administration in Gombe state, Nafada said, is his economic empowerment programme which made hundreds of youths and women not only self-reliance but also employers of labour.
Nafada stated however that the most significant achievement of the Gombe Chief Executive was the protection of lives and properties of citizens as since his assumption to office, people sleep with their two eyes closed.
In the area of electricity supply, the APC disciple submitted, a number of villages and hamlets in Gombe state have been electrified, encouraging the formation and development of skills for hundreds of youths and women especially those at the rural areas.
Malam Khalid Nafada therefore enjoined the good people of Gombe state to continue to massively support the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
Describing Gombe as a truly agrarian state, Nafada commended the efforts of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya in revolutionizing the sector, especially in the production of both food and cash crops thereby boosting the economic capabilities of peasant farmers.
He noted that these feat could not have been possible without the boosting the revenue base of the state which of course gradually bogging down Gombe state over-dependence in federal statutory allocation.
Nafada then cautioned those he described as unscrupulous elements who are hell-bend in bringing down the government of Gombe state through retarding the wheels of progress to know that it is at their own peril.
He then called on the Government of Gombe state under the able and dynamic leadership of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to provide skills training centres for youths and women to once and for all bring an end of roaming the streets to the few unemployed in the state.
According to him, the soft loans being provided by the state government to the unemployed in which the government offset forty percent of the repayment would go a long way in curbing youth restiveness in the state.
