MAAUN Congratulate Professor Munyama, On Appointment At The EU's Diplomatic Service Dealing With Africa Relations

The President and Founder of Maryam Abacha American University (MAAUN), Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo has congratulated Professor Killion Munzele Munyama, for his recent appointment at the EU's Diplomatic Service.

Munyama, the only Poland black member of the Parliament, left the Polish parliament to take appointment at the EU's Diplomatic service dealing with African relations.

The congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued by MAAUN President, Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo from Paris, a copy of which was made available to newsmen in Kano on Monday.

According to him, Munyama deserved the appointment in view of the experience he garnered as academic lecturer and politician of the Civic Platform, who served as a member of the Polish Parliament from 2011 until 2021.

"In addition to his role in parliament, Munyama has been serving as member of Italian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) since 2015. 

"As part of the European People's Party group, he is a member of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons (since 2015) and the Sub-Committee on Diasporas and Integration (since 2020). In this capacity, he is the coordinator of PACE’s Parliamentary Network on Diaspora Policies.

"He also served as the Assembly's rapporteur on the humanitarian needs and rights of internally displaced persons in Europe in 2018.From 2015 until 2017, he also served on the Sub-Committee on Integration," the statement said.

He resigned from the Sejm on the 10th of June 2021 after he agreed to work for the European External Action Service.

"So, on behalf of myself and family and Management of MAAUN, I wish to congratulate you on your appointment at the EU's Diplomatic Service," Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo said.

He prayed to God to guide Professor Munyama in carrying out his new assignment while serving at the EU's Diplomatic Service dealing with Africa relations
