Aba Traders Shutdown Markets As Nnamdi Kanu Appears In Court

Showing solidarity to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of proscribed IPOB, commercial city of Abia State has shutdown markets across the city.

Aba is a city known for business and commerce and houses one of the biggest markets in Africa.

Aba Locking up their shops, the traders cited that Nnamdi Kanu’s trial which commence today is more important than whatever gains they will be making today. 

“In fact today should be a total sit at home,” a trader, Uche said.

According to him, continuous trial of Nnamdi Kanu will caused more harm to Nigerian economy than good.

Kanu is standing trial on an offence bordering “treason”. He is the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, a group calling for Biafra Republic.

The federal government however, rearrested their leader in the overseas and extradited him back to Nigeria.
