The First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Aisha Bello Matawalle has called on Muslims in the state to embark on special prayers to Almighty Allah during the Eid-el-Kabir festival to end the security challenges facing the state and country in general.
“The Eid-El-Kabir period which coincided with the final hajj rites in the holy land provided the opportunity for Muslims to use the period and seek for Allah's intervention to provide lasting peace and stability in the state,” She said.
In a statement signed by the Zainab Shuaibu Abdullahi, Press Secretary, Office of the First Lady, said that in a goodwill message, the First Lady described the Eid el-Kabir as a period of sacrifice, sharing and caring, calling on the faithful to continue to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, love, unity of purpose and obedience as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and upheld by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Hajiya Aisha felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of this year’s Eid el-Kabir sallah celebration.
“While celebrating this important festival, we should not forget our dear state and country in our prayers.”
The First Lady also Muslims to use the Eid–el Kabir occasion to strengthen the existing interpersonal relationships among them and create new ones, saying there is also the need for them to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness, humility and respect for one another.
“We should imbibe the good virtues of giving and sharing with the less privileged and vulnerable households as enjoined by the Islamic faith” she added.
“Women should also endeavour to take extra care of the home front and their families during the festive period to have a hitch free celebration. She added that it is also crucial for women to support the present administration in the state led by Governor Bello Matawalle to provide lasting peace in the state,” the First Lady explained.
