Al-Istiqama Varsity Plans To Build 160-Room Hostel to Be Named After Professor Gwarzo

The Management of Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, Kano State, has concluded plan to build a befitting 160-room male hostel in the university campus to be named after the President and Founder of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (MAAUN), Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo.

Already the university has requested Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo to slate a convenient date for the Ground-breaking Ceremony of Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo 160 Room Male Hostel.

The request was contained in a letter dated Tuesday, 10 August, 2021 signed by the Proprietor and Founder of Al-Istiqama University, Hon. Sulaiman A. Kawu Sumaila, a copy of which was made available to newsmen in Kano on Wednesday.

According to the letter, the University's resolve to name the hostel after Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo is hinged on his consistent support, doggedness, understanding and unequalled commitment to the education sector and human development in general.

"It is on the basis of the above, coupled with your support to Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, and the success you have recorded in university education, we request you to please accept the
honour and slate a convenient date for the historic event.

It added that the project was part of the university's effort to provide conductive,
secured and enabling environment for its students to function effectively.
"Please accept the assurances and respect of the proprietor and the University community," the Proprietor/Founder of Al-Istiqama University said.
