Over Five hundred vulnerable people are to benefit from a Free Cataract surgery sponsored by Bauchi state government in collaboration with Muslim World league, a Saudi based organisation.
This was said by the state Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir at the official launching of the exercise on Tuesday at the Specialists hospital Bauchi.
Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the state government Ibrahim Muhammad Kasim explained, the gesture was to help the less privileged and vulnerable in the society who have cataract problem.
He therefore commended the Muslim World league for their support, assuring that hid administration remains resolute to bring succor to its people especially the less privileged and vulnerable groups
On his part, Dr Murtala Muhammad Umar, Ophthalmologist Consultant with Muslim World league, a Saudi based organisation described Cataract as a disease lead to people to become blind, hence the need to always consult experts with a view to overcome it.
Consultant disclosed that Bauchi state is one of the three benefitting state in north after Gombe and Jigawa, assured to work with the state government in order to bring more intervention from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Earlier in his address, the Chief Medical director Special hospital Bauchi Dr Ya'u Hameed call on people to come You enmass in order to benefit from the gesture.
