THREE members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) have on Wednesday narrowly escaped assassination along Akwanga-Lafia road.
The members include Samuel Tsebe (APC, Akwanga South), David Maiyaki (APC, Gitata/Karu) and Peter Akwe who represents Obi-I constituency at the state House of Assembly.
According to report, the lawmakers were coming from a burial of the late elder brother to the wife of Tsebe when the assassins shoot at their vehicles around Wowyen, a village along the axis.
Speaking after the incident, Tsebe expressed gratitude to God for saving his life and the lives of his colleagues.
"When we are approaching Wowyen village along Akwanga/Lafia road, that is between Police Mobile Training College, Ende Hills and the village towards the bridge.
"I heard gun shoot at the driver's side of my car in which I was the one driving.
"The bullet has broken down the glasses of my car. The shoot was targeted at the driver in which I was the one driving, so this gave me suspicious that someone was monitoring my movement and new that I was the one driving.
"It is more of assassination attempt. I have informed the police on the assassination attempt.
"Thank God my life was saved," said the lawmaker who defected to the ruling party from the embattled People's Democratic Party (PDP).
