The leadership arm of Save Africa Initiative has educated electorates on the best way to elect credible leaders and Hold them accountable during their tenure.
The group educated the electorates in Bauchi over the weekend at the inauguration ceremony of thumb power consult a leadership arm of save Africa Initiative.
Executive Director Save Africa Initiative Mr Emmanuel Kanti said the forum was organised to sensitize women and youth and eligible voters on their voting rights and encourage them to engage in politics as well as have the wisdom of choosing the right leaders by dropping sentiment and all kind of sectionalism.
Kanti expressed dismay on how some Religious leaders give wrong notion to their followers saying that they don't tell the leader's the truth and call on people to have free minds to equal contributions to the development of the country.
He advised electorates in the country to utilize their voting rights to elect credible leaders of their choice .
The Chairman Bauchi State Network for civil Society Network BASNEC Mr John Garba Jinjiri said a voter can use his voting rights to call back any of their who fail to deliver well.
Jinjiri said the electorates In each community knows their problems better than anyone for that they should write their problems and the changes they needed so that the political candidate will sign agreements that If he win the election he will do it to change their life to better, if he didn't do it they have right to take him to court or to recall him back.
He advised women to advocate and empower women to engage in politics in order to have good representation .
In a presentation on election and voting process an INEC official Mr Levi Magaji who said voting will commence by 8:30 to 2:30 urged the electorates to follow the voting to avoid cancellation of their ward and urged them to have confidence that their vote will count compare to previous elections.
Some speakers on the program a journalist Mrs Afsa Bulak of NTA delivered paper on the Role of women and persons with disabilities in election, Daniel Adamu spoke on the Role of youth in election and Aminu Sidi spoke on Religious and politics .
