Bauchi Gov't to Sanctions Religious Leaders Using Inciting Statements in Their Preaching

Bauchi State Government says,any Religious leader found to be using inciting words capable of bringing down law and order would be dealt with according to the law and order of the land.
 
It  directed  security agents to deal with hoodlums otherwise called  Sara Suka groups and individuals terrorizing innocent persons especially in the state capital.

The Secretary to the State Government Barrister Ibrahim Kashim stated this,at the end of a security meeting, with all security heads at the government house Bauchi.

Barrister Ibrahim Kashim  expressed displeasure on the mode of preaching by some Bauchi Based clerics and maintained that government would not allow such actions to cause conflict and disunity among different sects.

According to him, religion is a sensitive issue hence the move by government to ensure preachers are respecting the views of one another to guarantee peaceful coexistence.

On the issue of Sara Suka, the SSG noted that security operatives were directed to penalized the perpetrators in view of the incessant violent attacks being carried out by the notorious youth in most parts of the State Capital

Also speaking, the State Commissioner of Police Aminu Alhassan said the police and other security operatives would intensity operations in all the nook and crannies to ensure adequate security of lives and property.
