The Bauchi State Police Command has demystify fabricated news going around purporting the presence and activities of the people with spiritual powers in the Bauchi metropolitan and beyond.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer SP Ahmed Mohammed wakil said "
The bruit alleged the existence of the People with paranormal abilities in the Bauchi metropolis, the activities that baffle a threat to the security and safety of the good people of the State.:
Wakil said , "the intelligence machinery have relentlessly unravelled and has it that the story in circulation which induces extensive anxiety and panic to the law-abiding citizen of the State is fictitious and baseless and the Command hereby categorically assures the story is baseless and no incident of such has been tracked down."
He said "the alleged story as bogus and to call on the law-abiding and noble citizens of the State to disregard such bruit and further admonish the populace to desist from such acts as well as taking laws into their hands instead of reporting to the appropriate authorities for necessary action".
PPRO said," the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, urged public to go about their lawful businesses without fear of intimidation by such purported rumours.
He said the Commissioner directed all Area Commanders/Tactical Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to continuously embark on visibility policing patrol 24/7 round the clock within the area of responsibility and arrest any suspected person(s) or group(s), found wanting in the connection with such act or likes would be prosecuted accordingly.
