By Abdulwahab Muhammad, Bauchi

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, was greeted with an unexpected hero's welcome by ardent party enthusiasts, supporters, and well-wishers as he returned to Gombe after an official trip outside the state and his recent triumph at the Supreme Court.

The elated crowd, comprising party enthusiasts and supporters, lined the routes at  Nafada, Funakaye, Kwami and Gombe, eager to express their joy and solidarity with the Governor, following his legal victory at the Supreme Court.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who was practically avoiding any big reception, found it challenging to contain the overwhelming response of the people who couldn't hide their happiness over the court's verdict.

The Governor was returning from Maiduguri where he chaired the annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture as Chairman of Northern States Governors' Forum.

He chose to return by road, but his journey back to Gombe turned into a celebration of sort as supporters, led by officials,  party chieftains, and in some places traditional rulers, enthusiastically welcomed him along the route while passing through their respective local government areas.

In Gombe, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, led other top government functionaries to receive Governor Inuwa Yahaya at his residence and to convey heartfelt congratulations to him and the APC on the triumph at the Supreme Court. At all the places stopped over, prayers were offered for Allah's continued guidance for the Governor and his administration, as well as for the peace,  progress and prosperity of Gombe State.
