Mahmud Jega
Ace columnist and wordsmith, Mahmud Jega, has resigned as columnist and chairman of the Editorial Board of Daily Trust.
According to a report by Dateline, an online newspaper established by former Daily Trust editors, Mr Jega resigned to lead a new media company named 21st Century Chronicle.
Mr Jega, who maintained the Monday Backpage Column for over a decade, joined the company in 2006 as Managing Editor, later served as Editor and finally as Deputy Editor-in-Chief and chairman of the Editorial Board.
Before joining Daily Trust in 2006, Mr Jega worked with New Nigerian newspapers, Sentinel and Citizen magazines.
