PDP Wins 5 Out Of 6 House Of Reps. In Gombe –Africa Daily News

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has won five out of the six house of representatives seats in Gombe State while the ruling All Progressives Congress has won in the remaining one constituency.

Our correspondent reports that three serving lawmakers have lost their bids to return to the national assembly and are all members of the ruling party.

In Kaltungo/Shongom federal constituency, Dr Obed Paul Shehu of the PDP emerged victorious after beating APC's candidate and incumbent member of the house Dr Karu Simon Elisha.

In Balanga/Billiri federal constituency, the incumbent representative Victor Mela Danzaria of the APC also lost his seat to the PDP's Ali Isa JC.

In Yamaltu/Deba local government federal constituency, PDP candidate Haruna Garba polled beat APC candidate Shuaibu Umar Galadima.

In Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye federal constituency, Yaya Tongo of the PDP won the election to retain his seat in the green chamber of the national assembly having defeated the APC candidate Yerima Muhammad Gadam.

In Dukku/Nafada federal constituency, PDP's Elrashid Abdullahi beat the current representative Aishatu Dukku. 

But in Akko local government federal constituency, Usman Bello Kumo of the APC won the election after beating his rival of the PDP Aisha Muhammad Bose.
