Dogara Mourns Mai Tikau, Says Late Was Symbol of National Unity — Africa Daily News

By Abdulwahab Muhammad, Bauchi.

I received with shock, the news of the demise of His Royal Highness, Mai Tikau, Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar Grema Ibn Shuwa, which occurred on Friday, May 10, 2024.

His death is a huge loss not just to Yobe State but the country at large.

He was a patriot, a father to all, a man of peace, renowned educationist, and an advocate for sustainable development through his advocacy for tree planting to curb dessertification.

He was a man who showed love to all, irrespective of regional or political affiliation. It was under his leadership that people from different parts of the country, including my humble self, were recognised and conferred with prestigious  traditional titles, which helped to foster national unity and social cohesion.

I condole with his immediate family,  members of the  Emirate Council, government, and people of  Yobe  State over this irreparable loss.

May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Janatul Firdausi.
