On behalf of myself, the Government and good people of Nasarawa State, I congratulate His Royal Highness, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I, JSC (Rtd.), Emir of Lafia and Chairman Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs on his appointment as Chairman, Standing Committee on National Honours Award by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
The appointment which confers on His Royal Highness the responsibility to assist Mr. President in identifying and conferring on deserving Nigerians and Friends of Nigeria with National Honours as provided in the National Honours Act CAP 43 of the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 2004 for a period of four (4) years is a proof of your pedigree as an upright Judge in your years of service and a respected Statesman.
Let me use this opportunity to thank Mr. President for finding one of our own worthy of this appointment.
